These saugages (Bangers) are a wonderful treat.
Mild and most pleasent with mashed potatoes and scrambled egg with shreaded cheddar. Baked in oven on a rack so no need to turn them over. Soft center at 400 / 35 min.

Scrolling Instagram, I stumbled upon an ad that showed actual proper bacon and sausages! I looked further and found that I could buy these magical and rare items to be shipped to me (I live in Florida)

Recently I have been dreaming of a good bacon, sausage and egg sandwich recently, so the timing was perfect and the algorithm did me right.

On the 3rd day after I placed my order the treasure arrived. It was packed with care and was still very cold (I was worried about this until it arrived) the excitement I had while opening and looking at what I received was very evident to my wife as she watched. A traditional Cornish pasty is a savoury pastry filled with diced or minced beef, potatoes, swede, and onions, all seasoned and wrapped in a flaky pastry. It has a distinct "D" shape, with a crimped edge that runs along the curve and is traditionally associated with Cornwall, England.

Yes some regions of the USA have their own versions of the Cornish Pasty! When large numbers of British miners emigrated to the USA in the 1800s they brought their skills and a craving for their favourite lunch. Missing a taste of home these miners shared their recipes and local Americanized versions are available in certain regions.

An empanada and a pasty might look similar, but there are a few important differences. For starters, Cornish Pasties and British-style pasties are larger! They almost constitute a meal in themselves rather than just a snack. The filling in a traditional Cornish Pasty is beef with potatoes, swede (rutabaga), root vegetables and a big kick of pepper. A Cornish Pasty pastry is made with a flaky, savoury shortcrust made using wheat flour, rather than corn or maize flour. Empanadas are often fried whereas a pasty is always baked.

Cooking our classic Cornish Pasties is simple and easy. Preheat your oven to 375 F, egg glaze the top and sides, bake for 35-40 minutes, and let cool for a few minutes before eating. Full cooking instructions are provided with each product.
