How to Bake Our Pork Pies

Method:

Prepare

1. Preheat oven to 400F, then remove Pork Pie from its outer packaging. Set aside the enclosed Gelatin Sachet

2. Keep Pork Pie in the foil tin and place on a baking tray. In a separate bowl, whisk an egg, then lightly egg-glaze the top of the Pork Pie

Bake

3. Bake for 20 minutes at 400F, then lower to 375F for a further 55-60 minutes until the Pork Pie is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165F+

4. Let cool for 10-15 minutes before carefully removing the Pork Pie from the foil tin (retain tin for Steps 6-8)

5. Place the Pork Pie in the fridge for 3 hours to cool thoroughly. Once cooled, add the gelatin (optional).

Add the Gelatin

6. Take the foil tin and form a spout by crimping the edge with your fingers

7. Pour in the Gelatin Sachet and mix with 220ml (1 cup) lukewarm tap water (90-100F). Do not use hotter water as gelatin may clump. Mix well, then rest until the gelatin liquid becomes clear.

Finish

8. Carefully pour a little of the gelatin liquid into the Pork Pie. Work slowly and repeat several times until about 1/4 - 1/3 of the liquid has been used. Safely discard the remaining gelatin.

9. Place the pork pie in the fridge for 3 hours to allow the gelatin to set. Then enjoy!
