Properly peppery with black, white and cayenne peppers.

Our Cumberland Chipolatas are skinny versions of our big Cumberland Coil. Made with prime cuts of succulent pork, our Cumberland Chipolatas are properly peppery with a blend of black, white and cayenne peppers, and parsley.

Each pack contains ten skinny butcher’s style bangers, lovingly made to my time-honoured, classic Cumberland recipe. They are skinnier than our other bangers, and cook up nice and quickly for when you or the children are especially hungry.

They are easy to cook – pop in the pan, sizzle on the grill, or bake in the oven… until plump, juicy and bursting with flavour.

I made sausage rolls with my first pack of Cumberland Chipolata’s, they were great

They were absolutely delicious, not quite the same as the sausages I remember growing up in England, but a new delicious taste. I'll definitely order more & more & more.

Well That Was Impressive

In truth, I was a little nervous ordering from Illinois in the summer and delivering to rural Vermont. Fear of defrosting and a ruined order, but ordered nonetheless as I would be home all week and could receive shipment. Delivery made and despite a number of days in transit each package was frozen solid. Some seriously good thermal science going on there…

Excellent

Received along with rest of my order last week. 106 degree heat and while the dry ice was gone the food was still mostly frozen. Cooked the Cumberland Chipolata first. Awesome. Excellent flavor and texture. Cooked up great. Best I have found in the states

Tasted so good, it’s the real deal.

If you’re not familiar with Cumberland Sausages over a standard Banger; they have some herbs and mild spices. The spice is not hot so it’s tasty to those who don’t like anything more than a bit of pepper in any food. These are to bring out the flavour of the meat and reduce fatty taste of a normal sausage. You can get what’s labeled as Cumberland in UK supermarkets but without going for the more expensive options these can often be poor copies of a real Cumberland. On trying these chipolata style ones from Jolly posh I can say these are really good and. I was impressed. Meat was good quality the herb and spice was mix spot on, and they were easy to cook to get just right. Sometimes I find a combination of a Cumberland goes well with a Lincolnshire together on the same plate. They complement each other well and gives more.

The following is my experience of my first order.

Fed up with the Bacon This side of the pond being strips of fat with a few red streaks I finally pushed the boat out and placed an order with Jolly Posh including standard Pork, Lincolnshire and Cumberland sausages and some black pudding.

I was curious how the shipping worked. We’ve tried other ingredient packs before which always arrived in a few days still chilled.

Took a while from ordering to it being shipped but July 4th was there and the website makes it clear how this works and why so I was good with that.

From the tracking info it was looking like the carrier was messing up. Parcel was stuck in a nearby city for 2 1/2 days then nearly 2 days at the local depot before being finally delivered. Needless to say contents were hot with freeze packs melted.

I e-mailed Jolly Posh what had happened Monday evening and how I process the shipping insurance. I got a phone message back that evening which I returned the call. He assured me they’re resending my order the next day and they will handle every thing with the shipping company.

Got my tracking info next day and the package arrived soon after. Well packed as before and everything still frozen. Plus I got some extras. My skeptic wife said “wow this is a nice company!”

Being busy I only got the chance to try some of the Cumberland chipolatas yesterday with some Heinz baked beans (a little bit of butter melted in the beans)and fried egg (we’ve lost count of how many chickens we have) and butter bread on the side. There was trepidation as to how genuine the food was to the expectations from my memories.

Oh I was not disappointed. The meat was good quality and it really tasted like a Cumberland should. The childhood memory of my first sample of a Cumberland over a standard banger came flooding back. It tasted so good.

Looking forward to trying the other items I ordered. Have got some spring onions to add chopped to fried eggs and some portobello’s so soon will be rustling up a full English with proper bacon a combo of different sausages and black pud. And not to forget the English mustard this time. It’s got to be Coleman’s.

I think the family are anticipating some bangers and mash (real potatoes with milk sharp cheddar mixed in and chopped dill, third of a bottle of stout in the gravy) I got a pack of the pork bangers.

After the shipping company messed up my first order. Not Jolly Posh’s fault. They really showed great customer service and sorted me out straight away with no effort on my part. Plus some extras, all of which I appreciate so thank you there. So welcome.

And most importantly the first taste of the food was wonderful. It’s good genuine stuff and. Can hartely recommend anyone having a try. If you’re an American reading this who’s never tried bacon or sausages from the UK. Go on treat yourself, there’s a difference you won’t be disappointed.
