Posh Poutine
Ah poutine. You’ll always have a place in our hearts. Our posh version marries the traditional Canadian comfort food with our British comfort foods: traditional pork sausages and bacon.
How To Make A Posh Poutine
Ingredients:
- 24oz thick cut steak fries
- 1-1/2 cups crumbled blue cheese
- 4 Traditional Pork Bangers
- 4 Back bacon rashers
- 1 cup, beef stock
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2oz fresh chives
- 4 eggs
Method:
Pre-heat the oven to 400F and cook a bag of Steak fries according to the recipe on the packet.
Step One: Place Chips in the Oven
Oven cook your chosen chips as per the instructions on the pack.
Step Two: Cook your Sausages and Bacon
Whilst your chips are cooking, heat a skillet with a little oil and cook your sausages until they reach an internal temperature of 165F. Remove and set aside. Then cook your bacon on a medium heat, turning often. Remember, back bacon wont “crisp”, don’t burn it!
Chop your cooked bacon and sausages and set aside.
Step Three: Warm Your Stock
Take the beef stock and warm it in a large pan. Add the diced bangers and diced bacon rashers into the beef stock, warm, and reduce.
Step Four: Fry your Eggs
In a separate pan, prepare four sunny side up eggs.
Step Five: Serve!
Remove steak fries from the oven and plate. Sprinkle the blue cheese over the fries. Top with the sausage and bacon gravy, then add a fried egg onto each serving. Season with salt, pepper and fresh chives to taste.
